How to review and  get reviewed

EASE is collaborating with the Faculty of Library and Documentation of the University of Barcelona, Spain, to organize a seminar on peer review. This will be held on 20th June held in the Sala de Juntes de la Facultat de Biblioteconomia i Documentacio', Melcior de Palau 140, 08014 Barcelona, Spain.

This event will form part of the Faculty's doctoral programme "Information and Documentation in the Knowledge Society".

The seminar is aimed at graduate students, teachers and editors. It will cover the roles of peer reviewers, types of peer review, guidelines for reviewers, ethical issues related to the evaluation of articles and a practical session in which participants will act as referees. At the end of the seminar it is planned to play 'the game' that EASE presented at ESOF 2008 to show the obstacles to be overcome to get peer reviewed and published.

  On 19 July, EASE, in conjunction with Mediterranean Editors and Translators (MET), ran an 'outreach activity' on " The adventure of writing and publishing: the game of scientific publications". The programme for this outreach activity included a scientific seminar, a practical session (hands-on preparation of an article for a scientific journal) and a career opportunities session.

EASE seminar, 2004
