EASE shop : SfEP/EASE membership offer

SfEP/ EASE joint membership discount

Special offer – join the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) and you will qualify for reductions in your membership fees for both EASE and SfEP

The SfEP is a professional organization, based in the UK, for editors and proofreaders – the people who strive to make text accurate and readable. It has two aims:

•    to promote high editorial standards
•    to achieve recognition of the professional status of its members and associates.

The SfEP offers its associates and members – from beginners to the most experienced – a variety of benefits, from help with finding work to discounts on books. SfEP training courses are highly valued by the publishing industry. Members and associates of course benefit from members’ rates for these. The Society’s accreditation qualification is widely respected in the industry. Those who gain it become advanced members.

All members and associates receive Editing Matters, the Society’s bi-monthly magazine. It is for all who work with words for publication – both in traditional paper form and on the internet.

Members and associates may choose to join one or more of the Society’s three free email discussion groups: SfEPLine, SfEPMedical and SfEPLegal. These offer opportunities to seek advice and share expertise on general editorial issues and on particular subject areas, and are highly valued by subscribers.

Ordinary and advanced members may advertise their services in the online Directory of Editorial Services. All new members join as associates (£57 under the SfEP/EASE membership deal), and are encouraged to upgrade to ordinary membership as soon as they are ready to do so.

Associates may advertise their services to other members and to corporate associates via the fortnightly Associates Available listing circulated on SfEPAnnounce, the information email line that goes to all members and associates.

For full details please visit the website, www.sfep.org.uk, or contact Sarah Patey, the membership director (via the website).

If you are a member of SfEP or you decide to join, please also contact Sheila Evered, the EASE Secretary (secretary@ease.org.uk), to apply for a special rate EASE membership.
