European Space Agency - THIS ADVERTISEMENT HAS EXPIRED. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THE ADVERTISER
The European Space Agency is planning
to outsource the editing and layout of its technical publications in
future. These are scientific and technical monographs on space-related
subjects, rather than user manuals or product documentation. All are in
English, but the authors are generally not native speakers.
At the moment we are putting together an Invitation to Tender (ITT),
and I am collecting names of companies that might be interested in such
a contract, so that their attention can be brought to the ITT. Then of
course it's entirely up to the companies if they actually want to
tender or not. Preference is likely to be given to companies based in
ESA Member States*, but since we
need native speakers it's possible that e.g. the US will be considered.
Please note it's *not* a freelance job, but rather a contract for a
company to commit to process a number of documents over a year or two -
though of course the contracting company is welcome to subcontract the
actual work to freelancers if they wish.
If there is anyone out there who is even vaguely interested, please
would you drop me an email with your company name and a personal
contact name (I'm not allowed to provide them with "info@..." type
addresses, they have to be specific contact names). I'll put your name
on my list and in due course you should receive more information.
There's no obligation for you to do anything further if you have no interest after that.
For information, the European Space Agency (www.esa.int)
is located in The Netherlands, Italy, France and Germany - but this is
an off-site task, all correspondence will be electronic or
teleconferencing.
