EASE Guidelines for Authors and Translators of Scientific Articles to be Published in English

Aiming to make international scientific communication more efficient and help to prevent scientific misconduct, the EASE Council decided to publish, in various languages, major editorial recommendations for authors and translators of scientific articles. If authors and translators follow these guidelines before submission, their manuscripts will be more likely to be accepted for publication. Moreover, the editorial process will probably be faster, so authors, translators, reviewers and editors will save time.

The guidelines are a result of long discussions on the EASE Forum and during our 2009 conference in Pisa, followed by consultations within the Council. In the future we plan to add more appendices on specific subjects and to review all the recommendations annually.

We invite volunteers to translate the guidelines into other languages. Translations into several languages are in progress. All suggestions should be sent to Sylwia Ufnalska (email: sylwia.ufnalska@gmail.com).

Translations into languages other than English are provided as a service to our readership and have not been validated by EASE or any other organisation. EASE therefore accepts no legal responsibility for consequences of use of the translations.
