The European Association of Science Editors (EASE) is an international community of individuals and associations from diverse backgrounds, linguistic traditions and professional experience in science communication and editing.
The PRINTEGER European Conference on Research Integrity: Why Research Integrity Matters to You aims to promote a culture in which integrity is part and parcel of what it means to do excellent research. An improved governance of integrity and responsible research has to be informed by practice: the daily operation of researchers and their efforts to respond to the tensions and pressures of a complex research system.
The conference is aimed at early stage researchers, senior researchers, students, research managers, industrial researchers, academic teachers, journal editors and research policy makers, as well as the media and the broader public to exchange views about how to effectively address integrity challenges emerging in contemporary research.
The conference organisers invite participants to discuss research integrity from multiple perspectives, exchange views and discuss project results and educational as well as organizational tools. Topics will be addressed and discussed by keynote speakers and in parallel sessions.
Day 1 of the conference focusses on four topics: integrity challenges in the science system, research integrity and the role of media, deviance in science, and peer-review processes.
On day 2, institutional challenges are addressed, along with conceptual issues, retractions, and the legal perspective.
The conference closes on day 3 with a consensus conference on research integrity parallel to the tryout of tools especially for students.
