The European Association of Science Editors (EASE) is an internationally-oriented community of individuals from diverse backgrounds, linguistic traditions and professional experience who share an interest in science communication and editing.
We welcome members from every corner of the world.
New!
- The Tenth EASE General Assembly and Conference, "Integrity in Science Communication", will be held in Pisa, Italy, on 16-19 September 2009. Further details will be announced soon on the EASE Conference page.
- The next Annual General Meeting of EASE will be held in Barcelona on
Saturday 19 July 2008, in conjunction with the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) 2008.
- EASE is participating in ESOF2008 with an 'outreach activity' entitled "The adventure of writing and publishing: the game of scientific publications". EASE is organising this outreach activity together with Mediterranean Editors &Translators (MET). Further details are on the meetings and EASE Seminar pages.
- The Courses page has been updated (March 2008).
- A new job advert has been posted on the Jobs page (29 January 2008).
- The full contents of the May 2007 issue of European Science Editing are now available as a pdf file in the journal archive.
- The table of contents of the November 2007 issue of European Science Editing can be viewed online.
- A new chapter, on editing graphs (by Naomi B Robbins), has been added to the Science Editors' Handbook. This chapter will be distributed to members and journal subscribers with the November issue of European Science Editing. Non-members can buy the Science Editors' Handbook from the EASE shop.
- EASE has issued a standpoint on inappropriate use of impact factors. Read the standpoint or download a pdf file from the Forum page.
- Check the Jobs page for employment opportunities.
- Look up details of forthcoming meetings and courses, and dates of the next BELS examinations.
- The May 2007 Editor's Bookshelf is available online. This section of European Science Editing alerts readers to articles and books on topics related to science editing.
- Read WebWatch articles online from the May 2007 issue of European Science Editing. WebWatch articles from previous issues are available in the WebWatch archive.
- Future contributions for the WebWatch section of European Science Editing can now be added to the Bookshelf blog, which contains work in progress for the Editor's Bookshelf section of the journal. For further details or to contribute to the blog, see the Bookshelf or WebWatch pages.
- Minutes of the EASE AGM held on 15 June 2006 can be downloaded from the Meetings page.
- The European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) has invited entries for its
6th Award for Communication in the Life Sciences; closing date 30 June 2007. See the Jobs page for details.
