The sTandem Project
The Standardised Language Certification System for Medical Purposes (sTANDEM) project aimed to promote, assess and certify the command of professional English among healthcare professionals and researchers whose native language is not English. This will improve the linguistic quality of manuscripts submitted for publication. The sTANDEM project ended in 2014 and in 2015 a new organisation took over the task of the sTANDEM partners.
EASE endorses both the standardisation of scientific (including medical) terminology and the use of clear language by all authors of scientific publications in English. The project is beneficial not only to medical professionals but also to editors of medical publications. Therefore EASE suggests that you inform your authors about the project.
